I got up early on Sunday morning and made my way through the surprisingly quiet streets of Sydney out to Olympic Park in Homebush for Auto Salon 08 Final Battle.

I had to pay for parking, $3 par hour or $15 for the whole day, unfortunately the car park I was in only took coins as payment and I didn’t have enough. So I went to a parking area that was further away hoping it took bills, it did. I started hatching a plan. (more…)

Well it all kicked off early on Friday afternoon to commence the setup and getting everything in order for such a large weekend. I got there on night at around 5pm Friday and many cars were lined up waiting to enter the Brisbane Convention Centre.

I had an early start on Sunday Nov 5, got up at 4am… caught the red eye flight down to Melbourne to cover Auto Salon Melbourne (dah) 08. I was only going down for the day and decided to travel light and given the temp in Sydney (18 degrees) I figured, sweet don’t need a jacket. Upon leaving the confines of the airport at my destination I discovered it was a balmy 4 degrees! Anyone seen those Fisherman Friend adverts where the dude gets slapped in the face with a cold fish, yea well that was me. Memories of Wellington came flooding back. On the plus side, it woke me up.
